Rochester UMC has an active senior ministry that provides older adults in our community with the opportunity to come together to grow in their faith while growing in their love and support for each other. Rochester UMC offers seniors opportunities to reach out and help others in the community.Many of our senior adults participate in the Caregivers Interfaith Volunteer Services (CIVS) program, which helps seniors maintain an independent lifestyle.
Senior Adult Potluck
On Fridays at 11:30 a.m. there is a community potluck and devotional. Transportation can be provided for those who are not able to drive.
Exercise
Keeping fit is an important aspect of living well and caring for the body God has given us. The gym is open for walkers on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. Also on those days, at 9:00 a.m., there is a senior exercise (seniorcise) class using a musical audio tape that can be done by people of varying physical ability.
Senior Men
The Senior Men’s group meets on Mondays at 10:30 for a lively hour and a half discussion and prayer time around coffee and donuts.
J.O.Y. (Journey's of the Young-at-Heart) Group
We are a fun-loving group!We go on monthly bus trips to places all around the state, exploring places of interest, shopping, eating and other activities.See the upcoming bus itinerary in the insert below.Contact the church office at 498-7179 if you wish to join us.
