Children and Youth Volunteers
Calling all those who want to work with kids or youth: We are looking for adult volunteers to help with nursery, Sunday School, Kids ROC, and Youth Group. Contact April Patek for more information.
Outreach Sunday
In an effort to not only raise the visibility of RUMC but, more importantly, be the presence of Christ in Rochester, we will be holding an Outreach Sunday here on September 8.  The idea is to go into the surrounding area and help our neighbors (we love them, right?) with chores or tasks that they have not been able to do for themselves because of advanced age or disability.  These include, but are not limited to: painting, simple repair, raking leaves, pulling weeds, washing windows (one level only!), and sweeping out a garage. We will also be helping our Fire Department paint fire hydrants, and clear brush from the Stone House at Rochester Park.
For those of us who are not able to do that sort of work, we have arranged to have some sit-down tasks brought here from the Midwest Mission Distribution Center.  The day will start with a very short worship service at 9:00 a.m., and at 9:15, we will head out, to return at 11:30-11:45 for lunch.
What we need from you are suggestions of people and tasks that will benefit from this service.   Then, let Pastor Brian, April or a member of our Mission Team know and we will do our best to satisfy that need or fill out one of the forms in the back of the sanctuary.  Also let us know if you have any special skill that can be put to use.  Questions can be directed to us as well.
Thank you, and bless you in advance for participating in this local mini-mission trip!
