The Rev. Brian Caughlan, Pastor

Brian has been an ordained elder in the Illinois Great Rivers Conference since 2006.  Before ministry he worked in the field of photography and continues to take photos, but for enjoyment only.  He earned his Bachelor's Degree from McKendree College (now University) and his Master of Divinity from Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis. In his spare time he volunteers at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, reads, listens to music, goes camping, and FaceTimes with his daughter Becky and his grandkids, Averie and Rowan.  Brian, his wife Francie, and their dogs reside in Edinburg, IL.

April Patek, Director of Family Ministries
April started working at RUMC in December 2014.  She previously served at Christ UMC, Algonquin, Trinity UMC, Mt. Prospect, and Prince of Peace UMC, Elk Grove Village.  She earned a bachelor’s degree in music education from Northern Illinois University and taught band, orchestra, choir and music in public schools before going into ministry.  In 2012, she received a Master of Art in Christian Education from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary, Evanston, and is in process of being ordained as a deacon.  She also volunteers on youth committees for the conference, Kumler Hospitality House at a community dinner for the working poor and homeless as well as with Forever Home Feline Ranch.  In her spare time, she enjoys time with her cats, playing flute, and playing cards and other games.   
Chelsea Gerberding, Office Manager 

Chelsea began working with multimedia at RUMC in the fall of 2008. She started full time in the office in 2013. Chelsea has a bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale in media studies and currentlly resides in Springfield.

Linda Fairchild, Sanctuary Choir Director


Linda Fairchild has been choir director at Rochester United Methodist Church since 1992. She earned a Bachelor of Music degree in 1960 and an MS degree in 1988. She and husband Roger reside in rural Rochester. They are the parents of 4 grown children, and have 9 grand-children and 2 great-grandchildren.

David McCafferty, Contemporary Worship Director

David has been on staff at RUMC since 2002. He has a degree in Vocal Music Education from Western Illinois University. During the week he teaches vocal music at Rochester Middle School and is also the district percussion coordinator. David lives in Rochester with his wife, Tish, and their two children.
